D.A.M.M.S. Meetings: |
|
| |
Meetings are held the last Tuesday of each
month except August and December. The August meeting is left as an
open night, though many members often gather anyway. The December
meeting is replaced by a holiday dinner at a time and place to be determined
each year. The current location is The Trolley Stop in
the Oregon District (530 E. Fifth St.) The actual location is a house
at the back of the back courtyard. Just come in the front and ask the
bar tender where the DAMMS Meeting is. Meetings officially begin
at 7 PM and usually last until 9 or 9:30. The first part of the
evening is spent with show-and-tell and any official business that needs to
be discussed. The formal part of the meeting usually consists of two
presentations, one of a historic nature and one of a technical nature.
As can be seen from the list of topics and speakers,
the historical subjects tend to be very diverse. The technical topics
deal with many aspects of painting, sculpting, and general model-making.
They are meant to help everyone from beginner to master modeler. After
the meeting, many of the members stay for, what else, cold beer and
cheeseburgers and continued camaraderie. [ Map

Wexford Hill
Paint Sessions: |
|
| Being rescheduled |
On the second Monday of each
month, members gather at Wexford Hill Hobbies, a local
war-gaming store, for an evening of painting. The evening starts at 7
PM and lasts until 9 PM. Bring your own figures and paints or buy some
at the store. Plenty of table space and chairs are available as well
as a sink area for cleanup. You might want to bring some additional
lighting for detail work. Wexford Hill Hobbies is
located at 217 E. Stroop, Kettering, in a small strip mall about midway
between SR 48 and Wilmington Pike. [ Map ].

Fisher House Paint Sessions: |
|
|
Occasionally, Jeff and Barb Fisher open their
home for painting sessions. Check the calendar to see when the next
one might be. Their roomy attic studio can handle as many as eight
painters. Sessions usually start at 7PM. It is important to let
Jeff or Barb know if you'll be coming so they can plan on the crowd size.
You should plan on bringing some form of extra lighting along with your
paints and tools. The sessions are held at 448 E. Sixth St. [
